IDE Connection Troubleshooting

Walk through the troubleshooting steps to validate each step is working properly.  If we identify one step that isn't working correctly, it will direct you to the steps to correct it.

Use the Correct Port and Cable

There is the breadboard connection and the Arduino Microcontroller port.  Make sure you are plugged into the Silver port on the Arduino Microcontroller when connecting to the IDE for uploading code.  Use the original cable or another data cable (some USB cables only support power).

Browser Selection

Chrome is the most reliable Browser for the CrunchLabs IDE.  While FireFox will work for some, it can cause problems for others.  Safari is currently not supported.

Operating Systems - Type of Computer

Windows and Mac are able to use the software below while Linux and other operating systems can request help in the Hack Pack Discord Forum in the #ide-help-chat.  Chromebooks do not work with the regular software, but can potentially use the Arduino Cloud to run it.

Arduino Create Agent Software

Download and install the required software to interact with the CrunchLabs IDE.  Follow the directions from the CrunchLabs website.  https://ide.crunchlabs.com/downloads

One key detail for Windows users, is Run as Administrator.
